Sell it with usOffered by a private vendor, this 2022 Rolex Daytona ref. 116505 is presented with its display box, outer box, warranty card, sleeve, booklets and swing tags. Rolex’s five-year international warranty covers this example until 2027. The vendor advises the watch is in unworn condition and has graded it ‘AAA’. The images appear consistent with that assessment, showing no signs of wear on the case or bracelet.
This watch is being managed by Watch Collecting for the duration of the auction and is being held in a secure third-party facility. Watch Collecting will release the watch to the successful bidder after the vendor confirms they have received payment.
Retaining the Daytona’s distinctive silhouette, this reference 116505 offers a decidedly luxurious take on this iconic watch, with a solid 18K rose gold case and Oyster bracelet. The 40mm sizing and svelte profile make it supremely wearable, particularly for a precious metal example. The screw-down crown and pushers deliver 100m of waterproofness - highlighting the Daytona’s versatility.
The dial has an eye-catching “sundust” finish with contrasting black sub-registers that denote the 12-hour chronograph and running seconds. The red “DAYTONA” script that subtly follows the curvature of the sub-register at 6 o’clock adds an extra touch of sportiness. Housed inside the case is Rolex’s first in-house chronograph movement. The calibre 4130 was introduced in 2000 and has powered the Daytona ever since. It’s equipped with an impressive 72-hour power reserve in addition to being chronometer certified and tested after casing to a tolerance of +2 to -2 seconds per day.
All watches offered for sale are searched and cleared against The Watch Register database and a certificate is available to the winning bidder upon request.
