In 2022, Audemars Piguet celebrated the 50th anniversary of its Gérald Genta-designed Royal Oak, and to mark the occasion, the luxury Swiss brand launched a celebratory line of watches marking half a century of its horological icon. This watch - reference 15450SR.OO.1256SR.01 - is part of the Royal Oak's golden jubilee, and is earmarked as so thanks to its '50 Years' winding rotor which is visible through the rear viewing crystal. Finished in a bi-material blend of brushed stainless steel and 18K rose gold, the watch's traditional 'Grande Tapisserie' dial is silver-toned with 18K rose gold hour markers that match the surrounding screw-down bezel; a distinctive design feature worn by the Royal Oak since its launch in 1972.
