• Released in 2020 as a limited run of just 500 watches, the Audemars Piguet [Re]Master 01 is a contemporary interpretation of an unnamed early chronograph watch produced by the iconic Swiss watchmaker in 1943
• During the first part of the 20th century, Audemars Piguet produced only a small number of references with chronograph functionality
• ​This 40mm case of this 2021 example draws heavily on the distinctive two-tone case of its forebearer with the caseband, lugs, and caseback fashioned from stainless steel, and the bezel, crown, and chronograph pushers crafted from pink gold
• The gold dial draws heavily on designs from the 1930s and ‘40s and features a variety of colourful elements including blue chronograph hands and a matching integrated tachymeter bezel, plus black Arabic numerals, and black vintage font “Audemars Piguet & Co / Genève” wording beneath the 12 o’clock hour marker
• ​Beneath the sapphire caseback beats Audemars Piguet’s in-house calibre 4409, an automatic chronograph movement based on the brand’s calibre 4401 used in its CODE 11.59 series
• Calibre 4409 has a 70-hour power reserve and is finished with Audemars Piguet’s signature solid gold centre rotor
• Offered by a private collector in the United Kingdom
• ​A one-owner watch purchased new from an Audemars Piguet boutique in the watch’s hometown of Le Brassus in Switzerland
• Presented with its black lacquered wood display box, outer packaging, warranty, instruction manual, purchase invoice 
• A spare black alligator leather strap is included with the lot
• Graded ‘AA’ by the vendor who reports the watch to be in unworn condition
