• After a brief discontinuation in 2014, Rolex revived the Air-King at Baselworld in 2016 with the radically-different reference 116900
• ​The ‘Oyster’ case is shared with the Rolex Milgauss and at 40mm across, measures significantly larger than any of the previous Air-Kings
• The watch’s chronometer-certified calibre 3131 is also shared with the Milgauss
• ​This chronometer-certified automatic movement is equipped with a 48-hour power reserve
• The reference 116900’s dial is different to that found on any previous Air-King and is inspired by the cockpit instruments produced by Rolex for the Bloodhound SSC land speed record project
• White Arabic numerals at each five-minute interval break up the 3-6-9 ‘Explorer’-style layout
• ​For the first time on any Rolex model, the company logo and wording appear in green and yellow, making the Air-King truly unique within the Rolex catalogue
