This Rolex Daytona ref. 116505 is offered for auction from a private collector and is accompanied by its outer and display box, booklet, leather sleeve and warranty card. The watch is presented in worn condition, with marks and swirls across the case and bracelet. The vendor has graded the watch ‘A’ for condition and the images appear to be consistent with their assessment.

The 40mm case and svelte profile make Rolex’s iconic motorsport-insopired watch supremely wearable, particularly for a precious metal chronograph timepiece. Complementing the rose gold tones is a black dial with contrasting rose gold sub-registers. Also finished in gold are the applied hour markers and coronet at 12 o’clock. A contrasting red ‘DAYTONA’ script that curves around the sub-register at 6 o’clock adds a touch of colour.

Housed underneath the case back is the chronometer-certified calibre 4130. This tried and tested movement is chronometer-certified and equipped with a 72-hour power reserve. The watch is secured to the wrist via a solid gold Oyster bracelet with polished centre links.
