Offered by a private vendor, this 2010’s Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph ref. 26470ST.OO.A028CR.01 is presented with its display box, outer box, international warranty card and booklets. The vendor advises the watch is in good working order and has graded it ‘AA’ for condition. The images appear to be consistent with that assessment.

The 42mm case of this example is finished in stainless steel with expertly hand-laid polished bevels along the flanks and lug hoods. Similar attention to detail can be seen on the bezel, with sharp transitions between the brushed and polished surfaces. Audemars Piguet has applied a “mega tapisserie” finish to the dial, with contrasting sub-registers displaying a 12-hour chronograph and constant seconds. The large applique Arabic numerals and Royal Oak hands are filled with Super-LumiNova providing superior legibility to the wearer. A water resistance rating of 100m ensures the Offshore is suitable for any occasion.

On the underside, an exhibition case back displays the calibre 3126/3840. This automatic calibre is elaborately decorated with Côtes de Genève and polished bevels on the bridges. The power reserve is rated at 50 hours. The watch is paired with a factory leather strap with contrast stitching and mated to a signed AP pin buckle.

First released in 1992, the Offshore takes the Royal Oak's distinctive look, adding a more robust design perfectly suited to contemporary tastes.
