ABOUT THIS WATCH
- Popularly known as the ‘Zenith’ Daytona, this generation of Rolex’s iconic sports watch marked a major milestone in its history
- Built between 1988 and 2000, it was the first time the Daytona was offered with a self-winding movement
- Rather than develop the movement in house, Rolex turned to Zenith’s legendary El Primero calibre 400 - widely considered the best self-winding chronograph movement available on the market at the time
- The instantly recognisable case silhouette measures 40mm in diameter and is crafted from 18K yellow gold, offering a level of notable opulence and plenty of heft
- A fixed bezel displays an engraved tachymeter scale as a nod to the model’s motorsport heritage
- The lacquered white dial features contrasting black sub-dials to display the chronograph and running seconds
- On this precious metal example, factory-set diamonds mark the hours
