- The Rolex GMT-Master reference 1675 is quickly becoming one of the most sought-after vintage Rolexes
- Produced between 1959 and 1980, it’s one of the longest-running references from The Crown
- During this 20-year period, many changes were introduced including a number of notable dial variations
- This example from 1968 features a black “Long E” dial
- Otherwise named the matte Mark 1 dial, its distinctive for several reasons, most notably the letter “E” in “ROLEX” having a centre bar equal in length to the top and bottom legs
- This is the only time this script idiosyncrasy has featured in the GMT-Master’s long and illustrious history
- Also of note is the thin coronet which sets it apart from other matte dialled examples
- This particular watch is specified with a black bezel insert which provides more versatility relative to the dual-coloured alternatives seen on other variants
- Inside the case beats the in-house calibre 1570; a chronometer-certified movement with a 48-hour power reserve
- The watch is paired with an Oyster bracelet
- Offered by a UK-based private seller as a watch-only lot
- Graded as ‘Vintage’ with the seller noting it’s in good working order
All watches offered for sale are searched and cleared against The Watch Register database and a certificate is available to the winning bidder upon request.
