Sell it with usThis one-owner yellow gold Daytona ref. 116508 was purchased new by the vendor from a Rolex authorised dealer in July this year. It’s accompanied by the display box, outer box, warranty card, sleeve, booklets and swing tags. Rolex’s five-year international warranty covers this example until 2027. The vendor advises the watch is in good working order and has graded it ‘A’ for condition. The images appear consistent with that assessment, showing only minor hairline marks on the case and bracelet.
Retaining the Daytona’s distinctive silhouette, this reference 116508 offers a decidedly luxurious take on this iconic watch, with a solid 18K yellow gold case and Oyster bracelet. The 40mm sizing and svelte profile make it supremely wearable, particularly for a precious metal example. The screw-down crown and pushers deliver 100m of waterproofness - highlighting the Daytona’s versatility.
The dial has a gloss black finish and is embellished with gold sub-registers which denote the 12-hour chronograph and running seconds. The red “DAYTONA” script that subtly follows the curvature of the sub-register at 6 o’clock adds an extra touch of sportiness.
Housed inside the case is Rolex’s first in-house chronograph movement. The calibre 4130 was introduced in 2000 and has powered the Daytona ever since. It’s equipped with an impressive 72-hour power reserve in addition to being chronometer certified. A screw-down crown and pushers afford 100m of waterproofness and further add to its versatility.
The Daytona has become one of Rolex’s most coveted watches. With a history in motor racing, the model represents the perfect combination of sporty looks and luxuriousness.
