Sell it with usOffered by a private vendor, this 2022 Rolex Daytona ref. 116518LN is presented with its display box, warranty card, sleeve and booklet. Rolex’s five-year international warranty covers this example until 2027. The vendor advises the watch is in good working order and has graded it ‘A’ for condition. The images appear consistent with that assessment, showing light hairline marks on the case and clasp.
The introduction of the ref. 116518LN in 2017 brought a refreshing design update to Rolex’s iconic motorsport-inspired watch. The instantly recognisable case profile remains unchanged, however, it’s been paired with the manufacturer’s Oysterflex rubber strap. The watch is finished in yellow gold with a black “Cerachrom” bezel. For collectors seeking an interesting and nuanced dial specification, this example has gold sub-registers with stepped concentric guilloche in addition to sporty red accents on the minutes’ track, seconds hand and “DAYTONA” script. Referred to as a “Paul Newman” dial by collectors, it recalls the signature style of the vintage reference worn by the late American actor.
Housed inside the case is Rolex’s first in-house chronograph movement. The calibre 4130 was introduced in 2000 and has powered the Daytona ever since. It’s equipped with an impressive 72-hour power reserve in addition to being chronometer certified. A screw-down crown and pushers afford 100m of waterproofness and further add to its versatility.
All watches offered for sale are searched and cleared against The Watch Register database and a certificate is available to the winning bidder upon request.
