SUMMARY
Redesigned completely for 2022, the Rolex Air-King is no longer the brand’s “entry-level” watch. Measuring 40mm in diameter, the stainless steel case of reference 126900 is now flatter than its predecessor and has crown guards to add to the sports aesthetic - something missing from previous iterations of the Air-King. Further changes include a contrasting brushed ‘Oyster’ bracelet and various polished surfaces, which give the watch a unique appearance, and the addition of a zero before the 5 at one o’clock which balances the numeral layout. Nonetheless, the black dial is very visually similar to the one inspired by the Bloodhouse SSC found on its predecessor. The biggest upgrade, however, is Rolex’s use of its 3230 calibre: an in-house developed, no-date superlative chronometer with a power reserve of 70-hours.
