SUMMARY

Inspired by the rounded octagonal design of the original Gérald Genta-penned Patek Philippe Nautilus of 1976, the ref. 5990 introduces additional functionality to the brand's luxury sports watch by way of chronograph and travel time complications. This particular reference is crafted from stainless steel, a metal rarely used by Patek and one that is highly sought-after by collectors. The sharp transitions between brushed and polished surfaces highlight the watchmaker’s attention to detail. The watch features a graduated dial with distinctive horizontal embossing that has become synonymous with the Nautilus since its inception. Also defining its design are distinctive hour markers and hands crafted from white gold, which are filled with Super-LumiNova to provide maximum legibility to the wearer.
