SUMMARY

Tudor surprised everyone with the release of two precious metal Black Bay Fifty Eight’s at Watches and Wonders last year. Perhaps the most interesting was the watch we see here, the Black Bay Fifty-Eight “925”, which is made from sterling silver. While precious metal dive watches are commonplace amongst Swiss watch manufacturers, Tudors decision to craft a watch in silver is truly unique in modern watchmaking.

Building on the existing Black Bay 58 architecture, the 39mm case has a completely brushed finish - giving it a distinctly understated look. The unique sheen of the silver case is complemented by the taupe dial. The hour markers and snowflake hands, a nod to vintage Tudor Submariners, are filled with Super-LumiNona and provide superior legibility in all lighting conditions. Attached to the case is a Nato strap with contrast stitching and a signed Tudor pin buckle. In another first for the Black Bay, the watch has an exhibition caseback displaying the in-house calibre 5400 movement, which is both chronometer-certified and has a 70-hour power reserve.
