SUMMARY
While the Sea-Dweller was initially designed as a robust, no-nonsense tool watch, its identity has evolved over the years to become much more of a luxury item. In 2019, Rolex decided to honour the model’s legacy by releasing a two-tone version in steel and 18K yellow gold. While some might consider the combination of gold on a hardcore dive watch somewhat of an oxymoron, this Sea-Dweller carries its precious metal remarkably well. The rotating bezel, crown, and bracelet centre links are all fashioned from gold, as are the hands and hour markers on the dial. To match these warm tones, the ‘SEA-DWELLER’ script is inscribed on the dial in a gold colour. Despite its more luxurious personality, the watch still has genuine utility and is equipped with the same impressive 4000ft of waterproofness as the all-steel variant.
All watches offered for sale are searched and cleared against The Watch Register database and a certificate is available to the winning bidder upon request.
Any watch not covered by a current sales or service warranty should be considered as potentially requiring a service, even if in full working order on the date of purchase.
