SUMMARY
Launched at Baselworld 2018, the reference 126710BLRO marked the return of the iconic red and blue-bezelled ‘Pepsi’ GMT-Master II, which invokes the spirit of the original GMT-Master from 1955. Rolex introduced several significant updates to the new watch, including a revised case, a ‘Cerachrom’ ceramic bezel, and a new movement. The case measures 40mm in diameter and wears more substantially than its stated dimensions thanks to the large squared-off lugs synonymous with modern Rolex design. The lacquered black dial has been carried over from the previous generation, but the hands and hour markers have increased in size. Attached to the case is an ‘Oyster’ bracelet with an inbuilt Easylink extension, which provides the wearer with 5mm of tool-free adjustment.
