Sell it with usRolex’s most hardcore dive instrument, the Deepsea Sea-Dweller, was first introduced in 2008 and showcased the brand’s technical achievements. More than tripling the depth capabilities of the regular Sea-Dweller, its water resistance is rated to 12,800 feet / 3,900 metres. This is the result of several engineering achievements including a 5mm thick sapphire crystal, a helium escape valve, and a Ringlock system.
The Deepsea’s dimensions are substantial at 44mm, giving a strong presence on the wrist. Despite the size, Rolex has fitted the watch with a titanium caseback to reduce weight and enhance comfort. The bracelet features Rolex’s Fliplock wetsuit extension, and their Glidelock clasp extension system for added comfort and adjustability. The model also shares some key attributes of other Rolex sports models, including a Cerachrom bezel and Chromalight lume for legibility in low-light conditions.
This particular example benefits from some key technical, and aesthetic updates, which Rolex introduced in 2018 on the model reference 126660. The case was slightly refined for a better fit, and the lug width was increased slightly, from 20 to 22mm, to accommodate for a wider bracelet to provide a sturdier fit. A new movement was also fitted - the calibre 3235, which offers 70 hours of power reserve, anti-magnetic construction, and Rolex’s Chronenergy escapement. This latest iteration is now rated beyond COSC certification and is accurate from -2 to +2 seconds per day.
The watch is presented in superb, unworn condition. It’s a full set, which includes both the inner and outer box, international warranty, service manual, and swing tag.
