Sell it with usThis single-owner Day-Date 40 ref. 228345RBR was purchased new by the vendor from a Rolex authorised dealer in 2021. It’s accompanied by the display box, outer box, warranty card, sleeve, swing tags and spare links where the bracelet has been sized. Rolex’s five-year international warranty covers this example until 2026. The vendor advises the watch is in good working order and has graded is ‘A’ for condition. The images appear consistent with that assessment, showing only light hairline marks.
Constructed from rose gold, this reference 228345RBR brings one of Rolex’s staples into the modern-day. Sized for contemporary tastes, its 40mm case and historically significant “President” bracelet are crafted from 18K rose gold and complemented by an impressive factory diamond-set bezel. The sunburst chocolate dial is embellished with baguette diamonds and features the day and date in apertures at 12 and 3 o’clock respectively - a hallmark of this iconic model.
Beating inside the 100m waterproof case is the calibre 3255, an automatic mechanical movement that is chronometer-certified and tested after casing to +2 to -2 seconds per day.
First launched in 1956 and the world’s first chronometer wristwatch that could display the week’s date and day through windows in its dial, the Day-Date has become synonymous with luxury as a flagship model in Rolex’s catalogue.
