This Rolex Submariner ref. 114060 is offered by a private collector and presented with its box, warranty card, booklet and swing tag. The watch shows some light signs of wear on the case and bracelet, and its overall condition appears to be within the bounds of the seller’s ‘A’ grading. Rolex’s five-year international warranty provides cover until 2025.

The watch presents in a 40mm stainless steel case which wears with more wrist presence than its dimensions would suggest, thanks to large squared-off lugs synonymous with modern Rolex design. While the Submariner has well and truly moved into the realms of luxury since its tool-watch beginnings, it hasn’t lost any of its utility. The screw-down trip-lock crown affords 300m of water resistance, and the large white gold indices and hands are filled with Rolex’s proprietary “Chromalight” luminescence for superior legibility.

Housed underneath the screw-down case back is the tried and tested calibre 3135. This long-running movement is both chronometer-certified and tested after casing to a tolerance of +2 to -2 seconds per day. The watch is secured to the wrist by a satin-finished Oyster bracelet with Rolex’s Glidelock extension system providing up to 20mm of tool-free adjustment.

Introduced at Baselworld 2012 and recently discontinued, the ref. 114060 defined a new era of Submariner design. It was updated with some significant changes from its predecessor but remains the purest expression of the world’s most recognised dive watch.
