Offered by a private vendor, this 2020 Rolex GMT-Master II “Root Beer” ref. 126715CHNR is presented with its display box, outer box, warranty card, sleeve, booklets and swing tag. Rolex’s five-year international warranty provides cover until 2025. The watch shows some light marks and swirls on the case and bracelet and its condition appears to be within the bounds of the vendor’s ‘A’ grading.

This reference brings an added layer of luxury to the GMT-Master II line, with a case and bracelet crafted from solid 18K rose gold - referred to by Rolex as ‘Everose’. The watch measures 40mm in diameter with wide squared-off lugs characteristic of modern Rolex design. The bi-colour ‘Cerachrom’ ceramic bezel insert is finished in black and brown, which nicely complements the rose gold’s warm tones. The hands and markers are also finished in precious metal, and applied onto the lacquered black dial. Water resistance is rated to 100m thanks to the screw-down trip-lock crown.

Rolex’s latest generation calibre 3285 is housed underneath the screw-down case back. This automatic mechanical movement is chronometer-certified in addition to being tested after casing to a tolerance of +2 to -2 seconds per day. The power reserve is specified as 70 hours.

Known by collectors as the “Root Beer” in reference to vintage models sharing similar design elements, the ref. 126715CHNR was launched in 2018 as an extension of Rolex’s long-running and iconic GMT-Master II model line. Alongside its two-tone counterpart, this reference is historically significant for being the first in the model line to incorporate rose gold.
