In 2018, Rolex introduced Everose gold on the GMT-Master II and for the first time, brown coloured ceramic was applied to the “Cerachrom” bezel insert. Collectors and enthusiasts have affectionately named this watch the “Root Beer” after a GMT Master from the 1960’s which bore the same nickname and brown design elements on the dial and bezel.

The 40mm “Super” case wears slightly larger than its stated dimensions, thanks to the wide squared-off lugs. Everose hands and markers are applied to the gloss black dial and filled with Rolex’s proprietary “Chromalight” luminescence - providing excellent legibility. Curiously, the GMT hand on the dial is not coloured to match the bezel insert as we’ve seen in previous iterations. The trip-lock crown that delivers 100 metres of water resistance is also made of Everose, as is the bi-directional rotating bezel.

Satin brushed steel outer links contrast with polished Everose centre links on the Oyster bracelet. The Oysterlock folding clasp features Rolex’s Easylink extension system, providing the wearer with 5mm of tool-free adjustment.

The model is equipped with a new version of the GMT movement. The caliber 3285 has Rolex’s “Chronenergy” escapement, which offers better efficiency and, crucially, increases the power reserve to 70 hours. A “Parachrom” balance spring offers enhanced protection against magnetism.

The watch is presented in unworn condition, with no signs of wear. Also included in the sale are the box, guarantee, manual, and swing tags. As a 2020 purchase, it is covered under Rolex's warranty until 2025.

All watches offered for sale are searched and cleared against The Watch Register database and a certificate is available to the winning bidder upon request.
