Offered by a private vendor, this 2020 Rolex Daytona ref. 116500LN is presented with its display box, warranty card, booklets, swing tag, bezel protector and two spare links where the bracelet has been sized. Rolex's five-year international warranty covers this example until 2025. The vendor has graded the watch ‘AA’ for condition, advising it’s in good working order with factory stickers in place. They also note the watch may have some handling marks. The images appear consistent with their assessment, showing factory stickers on the flanks, end links, case back and clasp. Some handling marks are visible on the bracelet.

Announced at Baselworld 2016, the reference 116500LN was met with much enthusiasm from collectors and enthusiasts. Rolex’s decision to incorporate a ‘Cerachrom’ bezel on the steel Daytona was highly anticipated after appearances on several precious metal variants. This key update gives the model a more contemporary and substantial feel on the wrist and contrasts nicely with the crisp white dial on this “panda” variant. The case remains at 40mm, an ergonomic size suited to a wide range of wrist sizes.

Housed inside the case is Rolex’s first in-house chronograph movement. The calibre 4130 was introduced in 2000 and has powered the Daytona ever since. It’s equipped with an impressive 72-hour power reserve in addition to being chronometer certified and tested after casing to a tolerance of +2 to -2 seconds per day.

The Daytona has long been one of Rolex’s most coveted watches. With a history in motor racing, the model represents the perfect combination of sporty looks and luxuriousness.
