Sell it with usOffered by a private collector, this Rolex Yacht-Master ref. 116621 is presented with its display box, outer box, warranty card, swing tags, spare links and booklet. The watch has a factory sticker on the case back, and its overall condition appears to be within the bounds of the vendor’s ‘A’ grading.
The 40mm polished case of the Yacht-Master presents in a more refined and fluid shape than the slab-sided profile of other Rolex sports watches. It’s also thinner and more wrist-friendly at 11.5mm. The bi-directional rotating bezel on this ref. 116621 is made from rose gold, and media blasted with raised and polished markers. The trip-lock screw-down crown is also fashioned from rose gold and affords 100m of water resistance.
The brown dial features large ‘maxi’ hour markers and hands made from gold and filled with Rolex’s proprietary ‘Chromalight’ luminescence. The ‘ROLEX’ script and coronet are finished in a gilt tone to match the gold elements and offer a nice vintage touch. The red ‘YACHT-MASTER’ script gives the dial a sporty feel. The watch is powered by Rolex’s tried and tested calibre 3135, which is both chronometer-certified and tested after casing to a tolerance of +2 to -2 seconds per day.
This Yacht-Master is among the latest generation in the model line, initially launched in 1992 as a more upscale and dressy alternative to the Submariner. The watches are characterised by rugged dependability and luxurious materials.
All watches offered for sale are searched and cleared against The Watch Register database and a certificate is available to the winning bidder upon request.
