This one-owner GMT-Master II “Root Beer” ref. 126711CHNR was purchased new by the vendor from a Rolex authorised dealer in 2019. It’s accompanied by its display box, warranty card, sleeve, booklet and swing tag The vendor advises the watch is in good working order and has graded it ‘A’ for condition. The images appear consistent with that assessment, showing only minor hairline marks.

The GMT-Master II has a long and celebrated history within the Rolex catalogue, and this reference is significant for being the first to feature rose gold. It’s part of Rolex’s modern generation of sports watches with the characteristic ‘super case’ that wears with more wrist presence than its 40mm dimensions would suggest.

Nicknamed the ‘Root Beer’ by enthusiasts, the watch features a rose gold bezel with a brown and black bi-colour “Cerachrom” insert. Also finished in gold are the crown, hour markers, hands and bracelet centre links. Rolex’s proprietary Chromalight luminous coating has been used on the hands and markers to maximise legibility to the wearer.

Housed underneath the screw-down case back is Rolex’s latest generation calibre 3285. This automatic movement is chronometer-certified and tested after casing to a tolerance of +2 to -2 seconds per day. The power reserve is rated at 70 hours.

All watches offered for sale are searched and cleared against The Watch Register database and a certificate is available to the winning bidder upon request.
