Launched in 2018, the ref. 126715CHNR is significant in the GMT-Master II lineage, being the first-ever in full rose gold. Known by collectors as the “Root Beer” in honour of a vintage reference with rose gold elements, the watch has a warm and handsome aesthetic and is paired with a brown and black bi-colour ceramic bezel. Despite its precious metal construction, the watch has plenty of utility. Its GMT compilation allows the wearer to track multiple timezones simultaneously, and the trip-lock screw-down crown affords 100m of waterproofness.

The gloss black dial is cohesive with the case, incorporating rose gold on the hands and hour markers, and the “GMT-MASTER II” script is printed in a gilt tone to match. Rolex’s proprietary “Chromalight’ luminescence offers superior legibility in all lighting conditions.

Housed underneath the screw-down case back is Rolex’s latest generation calibre 3285, which has a 70-hour power reserve and is both chronometer-certified and tested after casing to a tolerance of +2 to -2 seconds per day. The watch is secured to the wrist via a full rose gold Oyster bracelet with polished centre links. Rolex’s Oysterlock clasp is fitted with an Easylink extension, offering tool-free adjustability.

This 2019 example is presented in unworn condition and is within the bounds of the seller’s AA grading. Some factory protective stickers are still in place. The sale includes a Rolex box and the watch’s warranty card. Rolex’s five-year guarantee provides cover until 2024.

All watches offered for sale are searched and cleared against The Watch Register database and a certificate is available to the winning bidder upon request.
