Sell it with usOffered by a UK-based dealer, this Rolex Daytona ref. 116505 is presented with its display box, outer box, warranty card, sleeve, booklets and bezel protector. Rolex’s five-year international warranty provides cover until 2024. The watch shows some light signs of wear including hairline scratches on the case and bracelet and some minor blemishes on the bezel under close inspection. The vendor advises this example is in good working order and has graded its condition as ‘A’. The images appear to be consistent with this assessment.
Retaining its distinctive silhouette, this reference 116505 elevates the model’s status with its “Everose” gold construction. The 40mm case and svelte profile make it supremely wearable, particularly for a precious metal chronograph watch. The rose gold is well matched by the “sundust” dial which is further enhanced by the baguette diamond hour markers. A contrasting red ‘DAYTONA’ script that curves around the sub-register at 6 o’clock adds an extra touch of colour and sportiness.
Housed inside the case is Rolex’s first in-house chronograph movement. The calibre 4130 was introduced in 2000 and has powered the Daytona ever since. It’s equipped with an impressive 72-hour power reserve in addition to being chronometer certified. A screw-down crown and pushers afford 100m of waterproofness and further add to its versatility.
