Sell it with usOffered by a private vendor, this full set Rolex Submariner “Hulk” ref. 116610LV is presented with its display box, outer box, warranty card, sleeve, booklets, spare links and swing tags. The watch shows some marks and swirls on the case and bracelet, and its condition appears to be within the bounds of the vendor’s ‘A’ grading.
The watch presents in a 40mm stainless steel case which wears with more wrist presence than its dimensions would suggest, thanks to large squared-off lugs synonymous with modern Rolex design.
The ceramic bezel insert and dial are both finished in green, the latter with a striking sunburst finish. While the Submariner has well and truly moved into the realms of luxury since its tool-watch beginnings, it hasn’t lost any of its utility. The screw-down trip-lock crown affords 300m of water resistance, and the large white gold indices and hands are filled with Rolex’s proprietary “Chromalight” luminescence for superior legibility.
Housed underneath the screw-down case back is the tried and tested calibre 3135. This long-running movement is both chronometer-certified and tested after casing to a tolerance of +2 to -2 seconds per day. The watch is secured to the wrist by a satin-finished Oyster bracelet and equipped with Rolex’s Glidelock extension system that provides up to 20mm of tool-free adjustment.
The ref. 116610LV Submariner, better known in collectors’ circles as “The Hulk”, was launched in 2010 and was the spiritual successor to the 50th-anniversary “Kermit”. Never more popular than it is currently, the model has seen a meteoric rise in collectability, especially since its discontinuation in 2020.
