From a private collector, this 2018 Rolex GMT-Master ref.116710BLNR is accompanied by its display and outer box, warranty card and booklet. With some light marking primarily around the lugs, its condition is consistent with the seller’s ‘A’ grading.

The GMT-Master has a long and celebrated history within the Rolex catalogue, and this particular ‘Batman’ specifications is part of Rolex’s modern generation of sports watches with the characteristic ‘super case’ that wears with more wrist presence than its 40mm dimensions would suggest. Both handsome and robust, with its steel case and ‘Cerachrom’ ceramic bezel insert. The dial is gloss black, and the hands and indices are all finished in 18K white gold. As the perfect travel companion, the 24-hour scale on the bi-directional bezel can be referenced against the blue GMT hand, enabling the wearer to track multiple timezones simultaneously. Inside the case beats Rolex’s calibre 3186, which features a 48-hour power reserve, COSC-certification, and is tested after casing to a tolerance of +2 to -2 seconds per day.

This modern travel companion offers genuine utility with its robust waterproof case and ability to track multiple timezones simultaneously. Specifically the ‘Batman’ is recognized as one of the watches that kickstarted the sports watch boom and is increasingly becoming more desirable.
