ABOUT THIS WATCH
- Rolex’s hardcore diving tool, the ‘D-Blue’ has all of the Deepsea’s technical capabilities including an impressive waterproofness of 12,800 feet / 3,900 metres but introduces some key aesthetic changes
- It was launched in 2014, following James Cameron’s 2012 expedition to the bottom of the Mariana Trench - the world’s deepest oceanic trough - wearing a Rolex watch
- The graded blue-to-black dial is inspired by the changes in colour witnessed by Cameron on his descent
- The watch is crafted in 904L stainless steel with a titanium case back
- The bracelet’s clasp incorporates a Glidelock feature offering up to 20mm of tool-free incremental adjustment
- Housed inside the case is the chronometer-certified calibre 3135 movement with a 48-hour power reserve
- This particular watch is an example of the original ‘MK1’ 116660
