SUMMARY
While the Speedmaster is synonymous with space travel and NASA certification, it was initially engineered for motorsport. Omega’s ‘Racing’ series follows the Speedmaster’s familiar design language but focuses in on its terrestrial roots.
With its distinctive minutes track, the ’racing’ dial was first introduced on the Speedmaster in the late 1960s. Since then, it’s appeared in several models, but most recently on the Racing Master Chronometer Chronograph. Fans of the Speedmaster will notice the flared style lyre lugs with polished bevels along the edges. The pump pushers, also emblematic of the model, are polished, as is the crown. The dial has a matte granular finish, with orange accents delivering plenty of sporty character.
