SUMMARY
Launched in the late 1990s, the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Chronograph is a much-loved version of AP’s iconic sports watch. The case of this 2018 example is sized for contemporary tastes at 41mm and boasts a thickness of just 10.8mm. This iconic piece of watch design features a traditional “tapisserie” dial with contrasting black sub-registers to display the chronograph and running seconds.
Meanwhile, the baton hands and hour markers are finished in applied white gold, and there is a date window discretely located at 4:30. Beneath the ‘Royal Oak’-embossed rear casing is AP’s 2385 calibre. This automatic movement measures just 5.5mm in thickness and is one of the thinnest self-winding chronographs ever produced. The power reserve is rated at 40 hours.
All watches offered for sale are searched and cleared against The Watch Register database and a certificate is available to the winning bidder upon request.
Any watch not covered by a current sales or service warranty should be considered as potentially requiring a service, even if in full working order on the date of purchase.
