When it released in 2016, the Daytona reference 116500LN was the watch enthusiasts had been waiting for. After debuting the ceramic bezel on a precious metal Daytona in 2011, Rolex finally introduced it on the stainless-steel model. The watch was released in two colour variations - black with silver sub-registers and white with black sub-registers, also known as the “Panda” dial.

Striking the perfect balance between sport and luxury, the 40mm case of the Daytona is both ergonomic and supremely wearable. The new “Cerachrom” bezel gives the watch a more bold and substantial appearance and compliments the polished case.

The “Panda” dial version we see here has a crisp white dial that contrasts nicely with the black sub-registers and ceramic bezel. The hands and indices are applied in 18-carat white gold and filled with Rolex’s proprietary “Chromalight” luminescence. The screw-down pushers and trip-lock crown afford 100 metres of waterproofness.

The Oyster bracelet includes a mix of brushed and polished surfaces. It tapers down to the “Oysterlock” clasp, which offers Rolex’s “Easylink” extension system for 5mm of tool-free adjustment.

Powering the Daytona is the calibre 4130, an automatic chronograph that Rolex has been using in the Daytona for over 20 years. It features the proprietary “Parachrom” hairspring, a 72-hour power reserve and is rated from -2 to +2 seconds per day. A column wheel and vertical clutch system make the chronograph actuation crisp and smooth.

The watch is a UK delivered item, presented in unworn condition with the factory plastic protective stickers in place; these are commonly removed at the point of sale. Also included in the sale are the watch’s box, guarantee, manuals, swing tags bezel protector, original receipt.

All watches offered for sale are searched and cleared against The Watch Register database and a certificate is available to the winning bidder upon request.
