Offered by a private collector, this Rolex Daytona ref. 116503 is presented with its display box, outer box, warranty card, sleeve, booklet and swing tags. It shows marks and swirls consistent with regular wear, and its condition appears to be within the bounds of the seller’s ‘A’ grading.

This two-tone example features a stainless steel case with a yellow gold bezel. The engraved tachymeter scale gives the watch a sporty look and is a nod to its motorsport heritage. Also finished in gold are the crown, pushers, hands and bracelet centre links. The seldom-seen mother of pearl dial coupled with factory set diamond hour markers takes this Daytona to higher levels of luxury. Despite its opulent aesthetic, the 100m water resistance and robust construction provide genuine utility and add to its versatility.

Housed underneath the screw-down case back is the calibre 4130. Introduced in 2000 as Rolex’s first in-house chronograph, the movement has a 72-hour power reserve and is Chronometer certified.

Released in 2016, the ref. 116503 Daytona is among the latest generation of this iconic model line.
