SUMMARY

This vintage-inspired limited edition from Oris was launched in 2016 to commemorate the life of Carl Brashear - the US Navy’s first African American diver. The watch features various similarities to the regular Sixty-Five, but in a slightly larger 42mm size. It is also the first Oris to be finished in bronze since the company was founded all the way back in 1904. The striking blue dial creates exceptional contrast with the bronze case and the applied rose indices are filled with Super-LumiNova for added legibility. Internally, the watch is powered by Oris calibre 733, which is based on the Sellita SW200 and is equipped with a 40-hour power reserve. The stainless steel case back features Brashear’s helmet and his personal motto “It’s not a sin to get knocked down, it’s a sin to stay down”.
