Sell it with usOffered by a private vendor, this one-owner Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore is auctioned with its original display box and sleeve, plus the official paperwork, including the instruction manual and AP guarantee. The vendor advises the watch is in perfect working order and its condition appears within the bounds of the their ‘AA’ grading.
Nicknamed “the half brick”, this hefty 42mm chronograph is finished largely in satin rose gold with hand-polished bevels on the lug hoods and the flanks of its iconic octagonal bezel. As per the Royal Oak’s trademark design, this reference is fitted with the line’s traditional “mega tapisserie” dial, which is finished in matching rose gold and surrounded by a tachymeter scale. Located at 6, 9 and 12 o’clock markers are contrasting black subdials, whilst the gold markers are presented as Arabic numerals. A black rubber strap is screwed onto the substantial casing, providing the watch with a sporty appearance.
Powering this sturdy timepiece is AP’s 3126/3840 calibre, a self-winding mechanism comprising 59 jewels and with a power reserve of 50 hours.
Introduced in 1993, the Offshore is a robust variant of AP’s iconic Royal Oak model, which was penned by Gerald Genta and considered to be one of the greatest watch designs of all time.
