SUMMARY

Introduced at Baselworld 2013 and recently discontinued, the ref. 116613LB heralded a new era for the Rolex Submariner alongside its all-steel and all-gold counterparts thanks to a series of changes including the introduction of a ceramic bezel insert which brought the world’s most-recognisable diver in-line with more contemporary tastes. The 40mm “super case” has more presence than its stated dimensions would suggest thanks to the wide and squared-off lug profile.

Large hands and indices made of yellow gold are applied to the dial and filled with Rolex’s proprietary “Chromalight” luminescence. Attached to the case is an Oyster bracelet with polished gold centre links and an Oysterlock clasp. The built-in Glidelock extension system provides the wearer with 15mm of tool-free adjustment. Housed underneath the screw-down case back is the calibre 3135 movement, which features a 48-hour power reserve, COSC certification, and is tested after casing by Rolex to a tolerance of +2 to -2 seconds per day.

All watches offered for sale are searched and cleared against The Watch Register database and a certificate is available to the winning bidder upon request.

Any watch not covered by a current sales or service warranty should be considered as potentially requiring a service, even if in full working order on the date of purchase.
