Sell it with usOffered by a private collector, this 2014 Rolex GMT-Master II ref. 116710BLNR is accompanied by its display box, outer box, warranty card, bill of sale, sleeve and booklet. The watch was recently serviced by the Rolex Service Centre, and a two-year service guarantee card dated 22 December 2021 is supplied. Service stickers are still in place on the flanks and case back, and its condition appears to be within the bounds of the vendor’s ‘AA’ grading.
The GMT-Master has a long and celebrated history within the Rolex catalogue, and this reference 116710BLNR is significant for being the first to feature a blue and black bezel. It’s part of Rolex’s modern generation of sports watches with the characteristic ‘super case’ that wears with more wrist presence than its 40mm dimensions would suggest.
The watch is both handsome and robust, with a finely finished 904L steel case and a ‘Cerachrom’ ceramic bezel insert. The dial is gloss black, and the hands and indices are all finished in 18K white gold. As the perfect travel companion, the 24-hour scale on the bi-directional bezel can be referenced against the blue GMT hand, enabling the wearer to track multiple timezones simultaneously.
A 100m waterproof case brings an added layer of practicality to the watch, as does the Oyster bracelet, which is equipped with Rolex’s Easylink extension in the clasp for tool-free adjustability. Inside the case beats Rolex’s calibre 3186, which features a 48-hour power reserve, COSC-certification, and is tested after casing to a tolerance of +2 to -2 seconds per day.
