This one-owner Rolex Explorer ref. 214270 was purchased new by the vendor from an authorised dealer in 2013. The watch is presented as a full set and accompanied by its display box, outer box, warranty card, sleeve, booklets and swing tags. It shows some light scratches and swirls on the case and bracelet, and its condition appears to be within the bounds of the vendor’s ‘A’ grading.

This historically significant reference was the first generation Explorer to feature a substantially larger 39mm case. Despite these new beefed-up dimensions, it maintains the distinctive tri-Arabic dial layout - this time with solid white gold numerals. After only a few years of production, the 3, 6 and 9 markers were updated with a luminous coating, making these earlier examples more collectable.

The watch is paired with a satin-finished Oyster bracelet which offers tool-free adjustment through the clasp’s Easylink extension. Housed inside the 100m waterproof case is the robust and reliable 3130, which is chronometer-certified and equipped with a 48-hour power reserve.
