ABOUT THIS WATCH
- First introduced in 2011, the A. Lange & Söhne, Zeitwerk Striking Time was the world’s first mechanical wristwatch with a jumping hours and minutes display and a visible striking mechanism
- The Zeitwerk collection with its distinctive jumping hours and minutes display is instantly associated with the brand, the windows being modelled after the 5-minute clock in Dresden’s famous Semper Opera House
- The Striking Time model takes this further with the addition of a repeating function that chimes the hours and the quarters on demand
- Cased in white gold and with a black dial, the watch is powered by calibre L043.2 comprising a staggering 528 movement parts, including 78 jewels
- The manual wind movement offers a power reserve of 36 hours
- This is a watch that demands attention, whether it is waiting for the time display to jump every minute or watching the chiming hammers beating away at the bottom of the dial, it is a tactile and responsive wearing experience
