Recently discontinued, this collectable reference was the first-ever series-production Submariner available in white gold. The watch has an understated class, with its heft and lacquered blue dial that provides a subtle hint to its precious metal construction.

The 40mm case wears more substantially than its stated dimensions thanks to the wide squared-off lugs that are characteristic of modern Submariners. Benefiting from Rolex’s latest technology, the rotating bezel is fitted with a “Cerachrom” ceramic insert, and the white gold indices and hands are filled with “Chromalight” luminescence. 

Attached to the case is an Oyster bracelet, also finished in solid white gold and featuring a Glidelock extension- providing the wearer with up to 20mm of tool-free adjustment. Sitting underneath the screw-down caseback is the renowned calibre 3135 movement that’s chronometer-certified and has a 48-hour power reserve.

This 2011 example shows some light marks and scratches commensurate with regular wear. Its condition is within the bounds of the seller’s A grading. The sale includes a Rolex box, warranty card, booklet, swing tag and a Rolex Service Centre international service guarantee dated July 2016.
