ABOUT THIS WATCH
- Introduced at Baselworld 2010, the ref. 116610LN defined a new era of Submariner design
- While the Submariner has well and truly moved into the realms of luxury since its tool-watch beginnings, it hasn’t lost any of its utility
- The size remains at 40mm, an ergonomic size suited to a wide range of wrists
- This reference represents the first Submariner to feature a Cerachrom bezel
- This example has been customised by London-based Rolex modifiers, Pro Hunter
- Whilst the watch hasn’t been altered internally and retains all of its seafaring characteristics, it has been finished with a diamond-like carbon coating inspired by an all-black military-issue Submariner from the 1950s
- A further modification is the ‘PRO-HUNTER’ wording above the now red Submariner script on the lower half of the dial
- Beneath the rear caseback beats Rolex’s calibre 3135, chronometer-certified movement with a 48-hour power reserve
