Sell it with usOffered by a private collector, this Rolex Daytona ref. 116509 is accompanied by its display box, outer box, warranty card, sleeve, booklets and swing tags. The watch shows some marks and swirls on the case and bracelet commensurate with regular wear, and its condition appears within the bounds of the vendor’s ‘A’ grading.
The instantly recognisable case silhouette measures 40mm in diameter and is crafted from 18K white gold, offering a level of understated luxury and plenty of heft. A fixed bezel displays an engraved tachymeter scale as a nod to the model’s motorsport heritage. The dial is finished in a ‘panda’ configuration with black subregisters on a silver-white face. Large applied white gold Arabic numerals mark the hours and are filled with Super-LumiNova for superior legibility. Red accents add a splash of colour and sportiness. The Daytona is a true all-rounder with a screw-down crown and pushers providing 100m of water resistance. Securing the watch to the wrist is an Oyster bracelet crafted from 18K white with polished centre links.
Housed inside the case is Rolex’s long-running in-house calibre 4130. Capable of keeping accurate time to within -2/+2 sec a day, the movement is chronometer-certified and has an impressive 72-hour power reserve.
As one of the world’s most desirable watches, the Daytona remains a watch in short supply. This reference 116509 offers the added desirability of a rare dial configuration and white gold construction.
