Offered by an established UK-based jeweller, this Rolex Daytona ref. 116509 is presented with its display box, outer box, warranty card, booklet, spare link, swing tags, bezel protector and service pouch. The vendor notes the watch was serviced in 2018 by the Rolex Service Centre, and a service guarantee card is included. Some marks and swirls are visible on the case, bracelet and bezel, and the watch’s overall condition appears to be within the bounds of the vendor’s ‘A’ grading.

The case and bracelet of this example are finished in solid white gold - offering plenty of heft to this stealthy precious metal reference. The 40mm diameter and relative thinness provide an ergonomic fit for any wrist size. Sporty red accents are applied to the minutes track, sub-registers and seconds hand, which tie into the watch’s motorsport heritage. The slate grey dial is also embellished with applied Arabic numerals in white gold to mark the hours. A screw-down crown and pushers ensure 100m of water resistance, further adding to the Daytona’s versatility.

Housed underneath the screw-down case back is Rolex’s in-house calibre 4130. First introduced in 2000, this robust and reliable chronograph movement is chronometer-certified and equipped with a 72-hour power reserve.

The Daytona has long been one of Rolex’s most coveted watches. With a history in motor racing, the model represents the perfect combination of sporty looks and luxuriousness.
