Rolex’s most hardcore dive instrument, the Deepsea Sea-Dweller, was first introduced in 2008 and showcases the brand’s technical achievements. More than tripling the depth capabilities of the regular Sea-Dweller, its water resistance is rated to 12,800 feet / 3,900 metres. This is thanks to several engineering achievements, including a 5mm thick sapphire crystal, a helium escape valve, and a Ringlock system.

The Deepsea’s dimensions are substantial at 44mm in diameter and 17.5mm thick, giving it a strong presence on the wrist. Despite the size and heft, Rolex has fitted a titanium caseback to reduce weight and enhance its ergonomics. Inside the case beats the tried and tested calibre 3135, which has a 48-hour power reserve and COSC certification. Keeping the watch secure is an Oyster bracelet that incorporates a dive extension and Glidelock system in its clasp - offering 15mm of tool-free adjustment.

This 2009 example is presented in fair condition with some visible marks and blemishes on the case, bracelet, and clasp. Included in the sale are the watch’s box, guarantee, booklet, and swing tag.
