RolexDaytona

Offered by a private vendor, this 2009 Rolex Daytona ref. 116523 is accompanied by its display box, outer box, warranty card, and manual. The vendor advises the watch is in good working order and has graded it ‘A’ for condition. The images appear to be consistent with that assessment, showing only light signs of wear.

This Daytona is presented in two-tone, with 18K yellow gold used to craft the bezel, crown, pushers and the Oyster bracelet’s centre links. Also made from yellow gold are the hands and hour markers, which are set against a gloss black dial. A touch of colour is introduced on the red “DAYTONA” script which is subtly curved around the 12-hour sub-register at 6 o’clock.

Housed inside the case is Rolex’s first in-house chronograph movement. The calibre 4130 was introduced in 2000 and has powered the Daytona ever since. It’s equipped with an impressive 72-hour power reserve in addition to being chronometer certified. A screw-down crown and pushers afford 100m of waterproofness and further add to its versatility.
