Presented as a full set, this 2009 Rolex Datejust is being auctioned through an established UK trade vendor based in London. The watch is presented with its display box and matching outer sleeve, plus all of its official paperwork including its proof of service from 2009, its official Rolex warranty card, and its user manuals. As part of the set, a Rolex travel pouch and swing tags are included. The watch is reported to be in good working order, and considering its condition falls within the bounds of the seller’s ‘A’ grading. Service stickers are in place on the flanks and case back.

This Rolex Datejust is finished in stainless steel and measures 36mm in diameter, thus making it a comfortable fit for any wrist. This example is emblematic of the Datejust line with its fluted white gold bezel and magnifying “cyclops” window above the date aperture at three o’clock. The watch is fitted with a black “sunbeam” dial, which changes in appearance depending on how it catches the light. This seldom-seen dial configuration also wears applied Roman numeral hour markers and baton hands finished in white gold. Another unusual design feature of this reference is its three-link ‘Oyster’ bracelet in place of the more common ‘President’ option.

The watch is driven by Rolex’s 3135 calibre. This automatic movement is chronometer-certified by Switzerland’s COSC, and is widely regarded for its accuracy and durability. Calibre 3135 has a power reserve of 48 hours when fully wound.

The Rolex Datejust was created in 1945 to celebrate “The Crown’s” 40th anniversary. The Datejust was the world’s first automatic chronometer-certified watch to display the date in a window on the dial, and has since become one of Rolex’s most celebrated timepieces.
