Sell it with usThis Rolex Yacht-Master 40 from 2005 being for auctioned along with its outer and display box, booklet, Rolex calendar, wallet, swing tag and spare bracelet links. Presented in worn condition and visible scratches around the case and bracelet, it is in line with the seller’s ‘B’ grading.
The example we see here is from 2005 and features all the familiar design cues that enthusiasts have come to love from the Yacht-Master line. The 40mm case distinguishes itself from other Rolex professional models with its more refined curves and fluid lines. It is also defined by its platinum bi-directional bezel that features a media blasted finish with raised and polished numerals and markers. The dial is finished in platinum with a contrasting red seconds hand and inscribed ‘YACHT-MASTER’ text.
Housed underneath the screw-down case back is the calibre 3135. This tried and tested movement is chronometer-certified and equipped with a 48-hour power reserve.
The Yacht-Master was initially introduced in 1992 as a more opulent and upscale alternative to the Submariner. It’s characterised by a case more rounded and fluid than the slab-sided shape of other Rolex sports watches. It's grown to become a versatile line in the Rolex catalogue, available in a range of materials and finishes.
All watches offered for sale are searched and cleared against The Watch Register database and a certificate is available to the winning bidder upon request.
