Sell it with usThe ref. 16600 represents the final chapter for the classic ‘five-digit’ Sea-Dwellers and strikes the perfect balance between modern construction and vintage design cues.
The Sea-Dweller encapsulates the hardcore dive watch, with a 40mm stainless steel case that’s equipped with a mammoth 4,000-feet of waterproofness, thanks to the trip-lock crown and helium escape valve. The uni-directional timing bezel has an aluminium insert; the last time Rolex would use this on a Sea-Dweller before switching to ceramic. For collectors who aren’t partial to the cyclops date magnifier, this generation of Sea-Dweller does without, which is unique amongst Rolex sports watches with a date. The black dial features applied markers and hands made from 18K white gold and filled with Super-LumiNova for supreme legibility. The watch is secured to the wrist by a satin-finished Oyster bracelet with an Oysterlock clasp and diver’s extension. Powering the ref. 16600 is the tried and tested calibre 3135, which has a 48-hour power reserve and is chronometer-certified.
This 2004 example shows some light signs of wear and its condition is within the bounds of the seller’s A grading. The seller is an established watch dealer and is providing a 12-month guarantee on the watch for peace of mind. This is a true full set and the sale includes a Rolex box, warranty papers, evidence of previous service, booklet, spare links, screwdriver, calendar card, wallet and anchor pendant.
All watches offered for sale are searched and cleared against The Watch Register database and a certificate is available to the winning bidder upon request.
