ABOUT THIS WATCH

  • A rare reference in the Rolex catalogue, the Datejust Turn-O-Graph is a historically significant piece in the Crown’s back catalogue
  • Originally released in 1953 and re-issued from 2000-to-2010, the Turn-O-Graph was Rolex’s first watch to feature a rotating bezel, thus pre-dating the iconic Submariner.
  • It was also used as a flying tool watch by the United States Airforce’s aerobatic squadron, hence its 'Thunderbird’ moniker
  • Thereafter, all Datejust Turn-O-Graph watches were marketed as the ‘Thunderbird’ in the United States
  • This example is finished in steel and yellow gold and is paired with a Jubilee bracelet
  • The engine-turned bezel has been re-imagined on the Turn-O-Graph, with the ability to rotate and time events up to 60 minutes
  • Complementing the two-tone finish is a champagne dial, which is embellished with applied baton hour markers
  • Housed inside the 100m waterproof case is Rolex's tried and tested calibre 3135, a chronometer-certified movement with a 48-hour power reserve
