Sell it with usOffered by a private vendor, this full set 2002 Rolex Submariner Date ref. 16610 is presented with its display box, outer box, warranty papers, booklets, sleeve, swing tags and a spare link. Also included is a collectable anchor pendant that Rolex no longer provides with its dive watches. The vendor advises the watch is in good working order and was last serviced in 2006 by Rolex via Mappin & Webb jewellers, however, no paperwork is provided for this. The watch shows light marks and scratches on the case and bracelet and the images appear consistent with the vendor’s ‘A’ grading.
The reference 16610 represents the very last generation of classically proportioned pre-ceramic Submariners. Striking the perfect balance between vintage looks and modern build quality, the watch features a refined shape, unlike the wide squared lugs and oversize feel of contemporary references.
The stainless steel case measures 40mm in diameter and features a rotating bezel with a black aluminium insert. Legibility on the dial is maximised through the use of white gold hour markers coated with Super-LumiNova. A trip-lock screw-down crown affords 300m of waterproofness.
The attached Oyster bracelet is rugged and functional and equipped with a FlipLock wetsuit extension. Internally, the watch is powered by Rolex’s tried and tested calibre 3135 movement, which has a 48-hour power reserve and is chronometer certified.
All watches offered for sale are searched and cleared against The Watch Register database and a certificate is available to the winning bidder upon request.
