ABOUT HIS WATCH
- The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Chronograph 'City of Sails' Limited Edition was a double celebration: released in 2002, it first paid homage to the 30th anniversary of the Royal Oak and also celebrated the collaboration with the Geneva-based Alinghi sailing team for the upcoming America's Cup in 2003
- Limited to just 50 pieces, it takes its name from Auckland, New Zealand, famously known as the 'City of Sails', city in which the 2003 America’s Cup edition took place
- Housed in a 39mm platinum case, the watch retains the classic Royal Oak aesthetic with its sharp creases and a combination of satin-finished and polished surfaces
- The grey dial features bold lumed arabic numerals, and accents of red that match the red team Alinghi logo inside the 9 o'clock sub-dial
- Paired with the watch is a vulcanised rubber strap that integrates smoothly with the case, providing a robust and sporty look
- The caseback is engraved with a depiction of the America's Cup, underscoring the watch's connection to competitive sailing
- Powering the watch is the AP Caliber 2385, a self-winding movement with a 40-hour power reserve
